Housing & Homelessness

Our Work with Housing and Homelessness

Countless Minnesota children, youth and families – including many women – do not have a home to call their own, spending the unbearable winter nights without shelter.
The mission of the Justice Squared Housing and Homelessness initiatives is simple: mobilize our volunteer base to provide children, youth and families adequate shelter.

Homelessness has a crippling effect, particularly on children. The lack of housing dramatically affects a child’s health, security, well-being, self esteem and school achievement.

The Justice Squared corps of volunteers is committed to ensuring that Twin Cities children and their families have a roof over their heads, are warm and have adequate clothing. Our volunteers are trained with the appropriate skills to become community advocates for affordable housing legislation.

The Justice Squared housing initiatives include:

  • Building homes and restoring homes with partnering organizations
  • Coordinating food and clothing drives within the Jewish and non-Jewish community
  • Advocating for affordable housing in conjunction with the Metropolitan Interfaith Coalition on Affordable Housing
