Hunger
Our Work with Hunger
A hungry child makes for a despondent, unproductive and insecure child. Without three adequate meals a day, a child’s ability to learn in school and engage with their peers decreases exponentially. Without proper nutrition, a child is unable to function to the best of their ability.
Justice Squared is committed to the sustainable end of hunger in Minnesota. By partnering with other organizations to coordinate food drive campaigns to benefit needy food shelves and hungry families throughout the state, we pull closer to reaching our goal: ensuring that there is one less child going to bed hungry each night.
Justice Squared engages the community in the fight against hunger and malnutrition by providing education and awareness about hunger and nutrition issues with a focus on Minnesota’s children, youth and families who are struggling to make ends meet.
The Justice Squared hunger initiatives include:
- Semi-annual food drives
- Education awareness about hunger through the Hunger Simulation Programs, a hunger awareness program of Second Harvest Heartland
- Hunger-related advocacy at the local, state and federal levels of government
- Nutrition education in public schools throughout the state.
