Supporting the lone democracy in the Middle East
Stand Up for Israel! is the only local agency working to support Israel, the lone democracy in the Middle East.
Our efforts to educate the non-Jewish and Jewish community about Israel’s land, culture and political landscape ensure that Israel’s stated goals of peace and security are understood and embraced by Americans. JCRC also works with Congress to increase military assistance to Israel and to strengthen cooperative defense programs to counter these emerging threats.
Educating others to speak about Israel
JCRC trains and educates pro-Israel students and young leaders in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota to develop their leadership skills so that they can effectively advocate for the safety and security of Israel. The numerous activities that are available to young persons make it challenging to develop young pro-Israel advocates; however, through Stand Up for Israel! programming, students and young leaders discover a niche and other committed individuals who are passionate about supporting Israel.
Advocating for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship
JCRC educates our members of Congress from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota about the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship. To complete this task, we must expand our network of activists by traveling to communities both large and small in all three states. In January 2004, JCRC took two members of Congress and Jewish community leaders to Israel, so that the elected officials could experience first-hand the life, culture and land of Israel. Specialized trips to Israel enable lawmakers to forge a connection with Israel and to begin to understand what Israelis go through on a daily basis.
