The Tolerance Minnesota Approach

Tolerance Minnesota is an award-winning K-12 educational initiative formed to confront prejudice and respect diversity in the classroom and in the community.

A program of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), Tolerance Minnesota incorporates art, literature, music, sports and popular culture themes into pre-existing school curricula.

Tolerance Minnesota is advised and supported by a diverse Council of Advisors which ensures that Tolerance Minnesota responds to the educational needs of the communities we represent.

The Tolerance Minnesota initiative includes:

Tolerance in our Community
Educational opportunities developed through community partnerships such as the Tolerance Minnesota Speaker Bureau and collaborations with the Council of Advisors and Council of Educators.

Tools of Tolerance
Resources, lesson plans and activities innovatively designed around students’ interests and which are easily integrated into a teacher’s existing curricula.

Art of Tolerance
Artwork reflecting Tolerance Minnesota ideals in a creative format in which students work together with professional artists to create artwork.
