Tolerance Minnesota Artist in Residence program

The Artist in Residence program enables students to become artists by working side-by-side with professional artists. Through visual arts, dance, spoken word/rap, theatre, music and other creative media, students learn lessons of respect and understanding while expressing themselves. By engaging students through their interests, whether it is hip hop music, mural painting or storytelling, they deeply connect with the message of tolerance implicit in the experience.

By providing lesson plans and activities prior to the residency, Tolerance Minnesota provides a uniquely comprehensive experience to educators. We work together with teachers to ensure that the residency meets your needs and the interests of the students. Student art from the Artist in Residence program is displayed in community and school exhibitions throughout Minnesota.
