Steve Hunegs, executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC), issued the following statement:

“We welcome the joint statement by Rep. Ilhan Omar’s House Democratic colleagues holding her accountable for her outrageous comparison of the United States and Israel, to Hamas and the Taliban, two terrorist organizations responsible for the intentional slaughtering of innocent civilians – including Americans. We are especially grateful for the ongoing outstanding leadership of Rep. Dean Phillips who is an indefatigable voice against antisemitism in all of its forms.”
